Open Peering Policy

Midwest Cable maintains an open peering policy. We welcome peering requests from all networks and believe in the free exchange of traffic to build a better, faster internet for everyone.

Policy Details

  • We maintain an open peering policy and will peer with any network that meets our basic requirements.
  • Peers must maintain a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) reachable by email and phone.
  • Peers must maintain current PeeringDB and IRR records.
  • Neither party shall point a default route or static route at the other.
  • Both parties shall make reasonable efforts to restrict traffic to routes announced via BGP.
  • We peer at Equinix DC2 (Ashburn, VA) and Equinix NY9 (New York, NY).
  • We support both IPv4 and IPv6 peering sessions.
  • Minimum prefix length accepted: /24 for IPv4, /48 for IPv6.
